How much will my move cost?
The cost of your move will be determined by a few different things. When, where and what are you moving? We have created a Simple-Move Tool so you can get a fast quote. Simply click the “Free Instant Quote” button at the top right of the page.
How do you charge for moving service?
Local moves are usually charged by the hour. However, you do have the option to get a flat rate/not to exceed price as well. Long distance and single item moves are usually quoted with a flat rate.
Can I leave stuff in my drawers?
For the most part, it’s OK to leave clothing items in your dresser. You should take out anything that is not clothing as some times the dresser gets tilted on its side and things can shift during transportation. Also, depending on the age and quality of the dresser and the conditions it will navigate to get to and from the moving truck, it might be best to empty the dresser. For example: if it’s an antique, solid wood and coming down the stairs with turns, take the items out please. Sometimes the weight of the items inside along with moving the dresser up/down steps or stairs can jeopardize the structure. In that case it’s best to take everything out as well. We can always remove the drawers if necessary so no need to overthink this.
What if something is damaged on my move?
We have never filed an insurance claim since Muscleman started in 2002. This isn’t because we have never had a damage, it’s just because most cargo insurance polices have high deductibles. We did however, have less than a .04% damage rate in 2018. This is exceptional for a moving company and we are proud of that. If something is damaged due to mover’s negligence, we will be more than fair about it. In Texas, a household goods carrier’s liability for loss or damage to any shipment is $.60 per pound, per article unless the carrier and shipper agree in writing to a greater level of liability. What happens if it rains on my moving day?
A little rain is not a big deal however in sever weather, you will always have a chance to reschedule if you do not feel comfortable moving your items in the rain or it is simply not safe.
Is there any additional coverage I can purchase?
Muscleman Moving offers additional coverage options to all customers for up to $20,000. If any more than that is requested, we suggest visiting movinginsurance.com as we are a preferred vendor and you can get as much coverage as needed.
How much should I tip my movers?
Tips are definitely not expected but are certainly appreciated. Your movers get to keep 100% of their tip earned for their hard work. When tipping your mover, the amount is usually based on the job size and the quality of the service. Average tips range anywhere from 10-20% depending on the professionalism, attitude and efficiency of the movers. Cash tips are a great or you can add it to the final bill to be run on your credit/debit card.
What is the cancellation policy?
Muscleman Moving requires a deposit at the time of booking to hold your spot on the calendar. You have 48 hours from your move day to cancel or reschedule in order to get a full refund of your deposit. Typically, if you’re needing to just reschedule for a different day/time, we are able to switch it for you and apply the same deposit, this just depends on how busy our schedule is.
What if i have to reschedule my move?
No problem we understand things come up. We can get you a new move date. We do book up fast, so please let us know so we don’t turn down other moves.
What if I can't be present during my move?
Not a problem! We do moves all the time when the customer is not present. As long as we are properly instructed, we can still get the move done efficiently. If you will not be present on move day, it’s probably best to use our Simple-Move Tool so we can give you a set price.
Is there anything you don't cover?
Particle board or press board, plants, jewelry, insides of electronics and items packed by the customer. Also, any moves when a 3rd party is involved. Example: Loading a rental truck and not transporting it. Our coverage would end once the load is complete.
Is there anything you won't move?
We are legally not allowed to transport: flammables, explosives, liquids, pets and firearms. Basically if it’s against the law, we can’t move it otherwise we will take whatever you need.
How far in advance should I book my move?
We do have limited availability and it’s best to book your move as soon as you have a move date. We understand that there are a lot of moving parts when it comes to relocating so rescheduling is not a problem.
When and how do I pay for my move?
Payments are made at the end of a job, once the move is complete and you are satisfied with the service you have received. We accept cash, cashier’s check/money orders and all major credit/debit cards.
